From the Farm to Functional Medicine

Pamela C. Grover, M.D., F.A.A.R.M., F.A.A.F.P., grew up on a dairy farm in Western New York — one of six children in a family where health was rooted in physicality, farm-to-table eating, and a deep reliance on nature. Her grandparents lived long, healthy lives with few medications and rare doctor visits. That foundation would shape everything that followed.

A love of competitive sports led Dr. Grover to focus on nutrition and the body's ability to heal itself. What began as plans to become an athletic trainer evolved into something bigger — a calling to medicine. She completed medical school at the University at Buffalo, then headed to Clearwater, Florida for her Family Medicine residency at the University of South Florida/Morton Plant Mease program.

During her first five years in practice, she taught medical students and residents, directed an underserved health clinic, and completed a fellowship at Michigan State in Primary Care Faculty Development. From 2006 to 2013, she earned "Top Doctors" honors in the Tampa Bay region and served on the Patient Quality and Safety Committee, as Compliance Committee Chairman, and on the Physician Advisory Board for the Morton Plant Mease Primary Care Group.

But throughout those years of traditional practice, she kept seeing the same thing: conventional medicine was falling short in helping her patients achieve true wellness. That search for better answers led her to Anti-Aging, Regenerative, and Functional Medicine. She completed her fellowship in 2013 and moved to Rochester, NY to practice functional medicine full time — closer to family and closer to the kind of medicine she believes in.

"My goal for all patients is to choose the most gentle approach to bring the body back into balance."

— Dr. Pamela Grover

Today, Dr. Grover's practice emphasizes personalized medicine — using lifestyle changes, diet, targeted supplements, and when appropriate, bio-identical hormones, adrenal, or thyroid support to help patients restore optimal health. She lives in Penfield with her husband, two children, and her dog Penny.

A Different Kind of Medicine

Our practice is built on personalized medicine with a focus on prevention and true healing. Rather than managing symptoms, we work to uncover root causes — using gentle, natural therapies tailored to each patient's unique biochemistry, genetics, and life circumstances.

Mary Zittel

Mary Zittel, PA-C

Physician Assistant

Mary brings a deep passion for lifestyle medicine and plant-based nutrition to our practice. A graduate of Yale School of Medicine’s PA program — where she graduated top of her class — Mary’s approach combines the science of functional medicine with the transformative power of whole-foods nutrition.

Lifestyle Medicine Plant-Based Nutrition Root Cause Analysis Water Fasting
Accepting patients via Zoom

Her Story

Mary grew up the oldest of two children in a small town outside of Buffalo, NY. Raised by parents who grew up on farms, she was fortunate to have an upbringing that included growing their own food, cooking from scratch, and working hard outside on the land. The health benefits she saw as a result of this lifestyle planted a seed that would be cultivated years later.

Her love of medicine was nurtured by running around her mother’s medical practice in their small town. Mary spent every spare moment at the family business, eventually following in her mother’s footsteps to become a medical provider. In addition to working in our practice, Mary is blessed to now care for patients alongside her mother in their private, primary care office in their hometown.

A pivotal moment came during her freshman year of high school, when she attended a guest lecture by Dr. T. Colin Campbell. From that day, she fell in love with an unprocessed, whole foods, plant-based way of living and never looked back.

Education & Training

Mary graduated from Canisius College with her bachelor’s in biology, then graduated top of her class from Yale School of Medicine with her Master of Physician Assistant Studies. While at Yale, she helped develop the lifestyle medicine course, which included her thesis on the power of an exclusively whole foods, plant-based diet.

Her passion for healing through lifestyle changes led Mary to work at True North Health Center in California, where she witnessed the power of water-only fasting, as well as what a salt-, oil-, and sugar-free plant-foods diet can do for the diseases that plague so many people.

Her Approach

Seeking to help patients find healing by treating the cause and not the symptom, Mary utilizes a combination of lifestyle, diet, and supplements — along with medication when necessary. Getting your body back in balance requires treatment that is personalized and precise, tailored to your unique needs.

Her personalized lifestyle medicine approach to find the root cause of disease and dysfunction will help you restore optimal health and vitality. Through the use of integrative wellness techniques, foundational nutritional support, and precision nutrition, your body’s innate preference to be healthy and balanced will be tapped into so you can thrive.

Mary resides outside of East Aurora with her parents and two dogs, Lottie and Maggie, who enjoy roaming the acreage and helping “mom” in her vegetable garden. In her spare time, she spends her days gardening, tending her orchard, sewing, knitting, reading, traveling, and being physically active. She especially enjoys her morning walk outside, where she can be at one with nature.

Kacie Cook

Kacie M. Cook, RD, CDN

Registered Dietitian

With over a decade of experience translating nutrition science into lasting behavior change, Kacie specializes in mindful eating and helping patients build a healthier, guilt-free relationship with food.

Mindful Eating Weight Management MB-EAT Certified Self-Determination Theory

Her Story

Kacie earned her Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition, Foods and Exercise with a concentration in Dietetics from Virginia Tech, and is a graduate of the Syracuse University Dietetic Internship program. She holds certificates of training in both Adult Weight Management and Mindfulness Based Eating Awareness Training (MB-EAT).

Her career began as an inpatient Dietitian at F.F. Thompson Hospital, where she worked across different floors, outpatient cardiac rehab, outpatient nutrition therapy, and the rehab floor of the M.M. Ewing Continuing Care Center. She then worked as a community nutrition Dietitian on a New York state grant-funded program for childhood obesity prevention, doing nutrition education and cooking demonstrations with young children, their parents, and child care workers.

Research & Expertise

Kacie spent 11 years working at the Center for Community Health & Prevention at URMC with Dr. Geoffrey Williams, translating Self-Determination Theory (SDT) and its application in interventions for health-related motivation — including lipids management, weight loss, and diabetes prevention. She advanced from Clinical Nutrition Specialist to Clinical Nutrition Manager during her time there.

She completed intensive training in Mindfulness Based Eating Awareness Training (MB-EAT) facilitated by Jean Kristeller, Ph.D. and Andrea Lieberstein, MPH, RDN, RYT. Mindful eating is about bringing awareness to your senses while you eat, paying attention to mental and physical cues — noticing the difference between your sense of hunger, your sense of fullness, and your sense of satisfaction.

Her Approach

Kacie is passionate about supporting patients on their health journeys. She believes it is important to honor your health, respect your body, and practice making peace with food. She’ll guide you in learning and practicing mindful eating techniques to help you manage food cravings, reduce overeating, and nourish your mind and body. If you need to integrate a therapeutic eating plan into your life, she will work with you to find a balance that is right for you — without flavoring your food with any more guilt.

When Kacie is not working, you can find her in Canandaigua with her husband, two daughters, cat, and dog. She enjoys spending time in nature, attending concerts at CMAC, and making mindful memories with her family on their travels together.

PEMF Therapy

Pulsed Electromagnetic Field therapy to re-set your body's natural ability to heal at the molecular level.

How It Works

When we are healthy and capable of doing our best, our "inner physician" is working — an infinite number of interactions between atoms, molecules, and ions taking place in our cells. But stress and strain on a physical, spiritual, and mental level can push us to our limits, resulting in complex disorders whose root is most often found at the molecular level.

Gentle electromagnetic stimulation at this molecular level helps re-set the natural ability of our body to heal itself. PEMF can help protect, activate, and regenerate your body, improve your energy, and boost performance and well-being.

Benefits

Mitochondrial health
Energy & endurance
Physical recovery
Mental acuity & concentration
Stress reduction
Sleep management
Performance optimization
Cellular regeneration

Each session is customized to your specific need — whether it is to relax, balance, energize, synchronize, or transform your day. The benefits are cumulative, so the more frequently PEMF is used, the more benefit you'll realize.

Session Pricing

30-Minute Session$30
5-Session Package$135

Take PEMF Home

To maximize the benefits of PEMF, we offer weekly and monthly rental options. Weekly rental: $120 • 4-week rental: $400. Contact the office to schedule your rental. You can also purchase your own Kloud device at centropix.us/drpamgrover.

What Patients Are Saying

"I started using PEMF to help with recovery after knee surgery. Within a few weeks I noticed significantly less stiffness in the mornings. Now I do a session every week just to maintain that feeling."

Karen L. — Rochester, NY

"The PEMF session is how I start my week. Thirty minutes and I walk out feeling reset. I've rented the device twice now for stretches where I needed daily use, and it made a noticeable difference in my energy levels."

Faraday Infrared Sauna

A totally immersive escape from all of life's stressors — including invisible forces like electromagnetic fields.

The SaunaSpace Experience

Your environment is probably more stressful than you realize. Step into our SaunaSpace Faraday Sauna — a totally immersive escape from all of life's stressors including invisible forces like electromagnetic fields (EMFs). Its unique shielding fabric made of silver and organic cotton blocks these elements so your body and mind can maximize the benefits of full-spectrum infrared therapy.

Near-infrared light works with your body's biology to create radiant heat from the inside out. The shorter wavelengths mimic natural sunlight, penetrating deeply to raise your core temperature more quickly, stimulating beneficial healing through the combination of light therapy and heat therapy.

Light Therapy Benefits

Your body contains red and near-infrared receptors. Light particles are absorbed by mitochondria in your cells, triggering signals and biological processes that lead to:

Reduced inflammation
Increased blood flow & oxygenation
Increased circulation & muscle relaxation
Increased cellular energy production

Heat Therapy Benefits

The near-infrared light creates radiant heat that raises your core body temperature by three degrees. That increase triggers your natural detoxification response:

Detoxification
Pain reduction
Faster healing
Improved sleep
Weight loss support
Increased immune response
Reduced oxidative stress
Skin rejuvenation

Session Pricing

30-Minute Session$35
45-Minute Session$45
4 × 30 min Package$110
4 × 45 min Package$140

What Patients Are Saying

"The Faraday sauna is unlike any sauna I've used before. Knowing that the EMF shielding is blocking all the invisible stuff while the infrared does its work — I leave feeling genuinely cleansed. My skin has never looked better."

Patricia D. — Webster, NY

"I do the 45-minute session once a week. My joint pain from rheumatoid arthritis has noticeably decreased, and I sleep so much better on the nights after a session. It's become a non-negotiable part of my routine."

Anne W. — Fairport, NY

Dr. Pam Grover, MD

IonCleanse Foot Bath

Gentle ionic detoxification to help your body release heavy metals, reduce brain fog, and promote deeper sleep.

How It Works

The IonCleanse foot bath helps the body relax and gently detox by introducing biocompatible electrical frequencies to water, which elicit a relaxation response in the body. These frequencies create an ionic field that cleanses and purifies your body through the power of ions, which attract and neutralize oppositely charged toxins.

Detoxification helps improve your body's normal systems and processes. Mercury, cadmium, aluminum, lead, and glyphosate — along with other harmful toxins that build up in the body — are gently removed during your foot bath.

Benefits

Heavy metal removal
Reduced brain fog
Deeper, more restful sleep
Greater sense of calm
Glyphosate detoxification
Improved body systems & processes

Session Pricing

30-Minute Session$40
5-Session Package$175

What Patients Are Saying

"I was skeptical, I'll admit. But after five sessions, the brain fog I'd been living with for years started to lift. I'm thinking more clearly and sleeping better than I have in a decade. It's such a simple, relaxing treatment too."

Linda R. — Rochester, NY

"Dr. Grover recommended the IonCleanse as part of my detox protocol. The difference in how I feel after a session is immediate — lighter, calmer, more grounded. I do it every other week now."

Michelle H. — Victor, NY

Joovv Red Light Therapy

FDA-approved red and infrared light therapy that works at the mitochondrial level to heal from the inside out.

How It Works

During your Joovv session, your skin is exposed to both red and infrared light, which is absorbed by your cells at the mitochondrial level. This produces increased energy while reducing inflammation, helping your cells repair themselves and become healthier — ultimately stimulating healing throughout your entire body.

This device is FDA-approved as a Class II medical device, providing clinical-grade light therapy in a comfortable, relaxing setting.

Benefits

Reduced inflammation
Improved skin health
Enhanced circulation
Reduced joint pain
Improved mental acuity
Muscle tissue repair
Enhanced fertility
Increased weight loss

Session Pricing

10–20 Minute Session$15
5-Session Package$50

What Patients Are Saying

"At $15 a session, the Joovv is the best deal in the Wellness Room. I started going for joint pain in my hands and within a month noticed real improvement. Now I pair it with PEMF and the combination is incredible."

Robert T. — Brighton, NY

"I use the Joovv sessions as part of my post-workout recovery. The inflammation in my knees has decreased dramatically, and my skin has this glow that my friends keep asking about. Highly recommend."

Stephanie C. — Henrietta, NY
